Meet Our Team


Drs. Roger & Donna Shaw

Drs. Roger & Donna Shaw met while attending veterinary school at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and opened their practice in June, 1983. Their daughter Heather and her husband Adam reside in Trumann while their daughter Jennifer resides in Maumelle. The youngest daughter Stephanie has her Master of Science in Marine Science and lives with her husband Jake in Guam where he serves in the U.S. Navy.

Lesley Woodard

Lesley greets you with a smile each time you visit with your pet. She performs many valuable tasks in addition to answering your questions. She also handles the scheduling of appointments and assists the doctors with the care of your pets while staying at our hospital. Her compassion for animals is amazing and she keeps our office running efficiently. She shares her home with Molly  and her Boxer Bender.



JoDawn Carlton recently joined our staff as a veterinary assistant. She has some formal education as a veterinary technician.  JoDawn cares for the pets who are lodging with us, assists the doctors with treatment of the ill patients in the hospital, helps Lesley at the front desk, and is learning to answer your phone calls. She is wonderful with the pets and loves to get to know your fur babies. These pictures feature JoDawn with her fur baby Lily Ann and kitty Murray.  

Jacey and STellaJacey Oakes

Jacey Oakes joined our staff December of 2017. She is a graduate of Highland School where she was active playing volleyball and softball. Some may recognize her from her time as a waitress at the Artisan in Highland. As a part of our team, she takes on a multitude of responsibilities assisting the doctors with the care of your pets during routine exams, surgery, and times of illness. Jacey also assists Lesley with office duties such as answering the phone to help with your questions and scheduling of appointments. This photo shows Jacey with her precious puppy Stella.


Jeff Lyles joined our team in December of 1999. Jeff cares for our lodging pets and ensures they are comfortable and happy during their stay. Jeff exercises the dogs twice a day and gives the cats lodging with us loads of TLC. He lives with his two companions Trotter and Shaggy and can tell you all sorts of information about sports statistics. Jeff is originally from Wisconsin and his favorite football team is the Green Bay Packers.

Andrew Miller is a 2017 graduate of Highland Schools. During his high school years, he was involved with Quiz Bowl, Chess Club, and Upward Bound Math and Science at Lyon College.  He joined our staff in May of 2017 and is pictured here with Winnie. Andrew is currently enrolled at Ozarka College working toward his degree. As part of our team, Andrew cares for your pets while they are lodging with us. He ensures they are walked twice a day, receive water & food, and gives them some TLC. Andrew also helps the doctors with treating your pets and assists them with some surgical procedures.
