Always pay attention to even slight changes in your pet's behavior, elimination habits, eating habits, and routines. Do not feel silly about calling us to report something out of the ordinary.  When pets are sick or injured, they perceive themselves to be vulnerable. We prefer you to report changes you find suspicious instead of hesitating and delaying timely intervention that could make a difference.

Loss of appetite is a sign that something may be wrong. Changes in elimination such as diarrhea or constipation can be a problem. Watch for changes in the stool such as in color, consistency, frequency, difficulty, or pain. Behavioral changes such as uncharacteristic viciousness, depression, solitude, etc. may tip you off to something that is amiss. Your observations help us reach a diagnosis and aid in starting treatment before a problem develops. Be vigilant and alert to changes in your pet's behavior.   Contact us if you have concerns or questions about your pet's health care.  If your pet is in need of emergency care after hours and you cannot reach the doctors at their home, there are other options. On weekends, call Allied Animal ER in Jonesboro , AR at 870-316-6281.  During the week and weekends, you can contact Arkansas Veterinary Emergency Specialist at 501-224-3784 or Memphis Veterinary Specialist at 901-676-7430. These two clinics offer full service 24/7 emergency care with a complete staff of veterinarians and veterinary technicians to handle any and all emergency situations.

"My sweet kitty had cancer & another vet recommended surgery, which we did. It made things worse. We brought her in to end her suffering which was the saddest decision I've made. She wasn't able to eat or drink. She could barely walk. They were very kind and patient. My family couldn't stop crying & I went on about how she was 14 & the best cat ever. They just let us carry on & gave us some privacy to say our goodbyes. I wish I had brought her here for what I thought were ear mites because I know now that he would have been upfront with her diagnosis, how to manage it, & compassionate enough to tell us to enjoy what time we have with her... A few month's later, a kitten showed up at our house. We had her spayed & her surgery went very well. She recovered very quickly with no issues."     Tiffany Gentry, Cherokee Village, Arkansas
