Shaw Veterinary Clinic Lodging Information
Due to the large number of pets we care for and the problems presented with parasite control and health maintenance, we at Shaw Veterinary Clinic found it necessary to develop a set of guidelines to follow for our lodging pets. As it is our aim to keep your pet's health concerns our primary objective, we welcome your comments and suggestions. Your pet's well-being is our main concern.
All pets lodging with us will be examined for fleas and/or external parasites upon arrival and treated for this problem. In an effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment, the doctors will examine your pet's medical records to ensure vaccinations are current. Either our doctors must administer these vaccinations or verify proof of administration by a licensed veterinarian through paper, faxed, or emailed records. Dogs should be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, and Bordetella. Cats should be protected against Rabies, Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Chlamydia, and Panleukopenia.
Lodging fees begin the day you leave your pet with us regardless of the time. If you pick up your pet before 1 p.m., you will not be charged for that day. If it is after 1 p.m. when you pick up your pet, you will be charged for that day. If you request a bath or grooming the day you pick up your pet, you will not be charged a lodging fee for that day. Feel free to bring your pet's bed and own food to make your pet more comfortable.
We welcome phone calls during your pet's stay with us to check on your pet's status. Bring a bed, toys, and specific foods for your pets to make them feel more at ease with a little piece of home. We exercise the dogs twice a day walking them outside. We typically cater to a large number of lodgers during the holidays so give us a call if you need room for your pet during Thanksgiving or Christmas.
